Midnight Snack No.7
« on: December 30, 2013, 01:50 AM »
cR0 thread, auto suggestion, thanks Bengali Bob

This quick brown Chicken Balti Madras on my supper plate tonight, Yum :P with Chips and some 5Aday on the side.
Very fresh, tasty and unusual. Hit the spot nicely.

Ingredients - Soupmaker Garabi - Extra Hot Chilli Powder - Mangal Balti Powder.

No Mix Powder or Kashmiri Mirch, hence the Brown Balti

cheers Chewy

I could quite happily tuck into that right now. It looks, as usual, delicious Chewy.

... looks a great dish CT, you're the man  ;)  I wish you would do a PDF of all your stuff mate, I reckon it would be the (definitive) dogs nads  :D  The dishes you keep turning out look absolutely awesome.

I regularly use your base recipe, it's nicely balanced and doesn't overpower the recipe I'm trying to replicate, I've tried many others but I keep returning to it.

Not heard of the 'soupmaker garabi', is it different to your pressure cooker base?
I can get hold of East End Balti Masala easily, is it much different to Mangal?

All the best for the New Year,
Ken

Hi chewy looking good you always make me hungry

Just wondering on your soup Garabi is it this you made it in http://www.curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php?topic=6288.0

If so be good to have a recipe to produce enough Garabi for one meal as the wife hates the mess  :-\

Thanks for the kind words guys. :D

GA. Sorry, never seen or used East End Balti mix.

I buy (probably too many) boxed spices.
Mainly, I think mostly the foil inner packaging gives them a quality freshness feel.
For Balti flavour its usually Mangal Balti, but Shan Karahi/Fry Mix and Laziza Karahi/Fry are pretty good for Balti too.
No need for Garam Masala with these, as its already in.

Iceman, yes thats the Soupmaker thread.
Very clean and semi automatic way of making fresh Garabi.
If you get one, for a Garabi recipe, just scale down my 1 hour base
Works fine ;)
cheers Chewy
