New member but been eating curry for years

 :P
Just finished work and have time to make my own currys. Need help in finding good recipes for chicken madras jalfrezzi type currys. Tried to make a few with different spices, jars and powders but never have that great taste of the local restuarants...

Some jars have produced nice currys with modifications, but I want to do food from scratch. Pataks have been good also the Aldi jars with sauce and dry spice on the top have produced excellent results with just a few crushed chilli added.

 ;D  Good point chewy.
Welcome to the best knowledge base on Indian Restaurant dishes on the net Drobbly.  With the exception of handful of characters you will find most members more than willing to help and direct you to where you need to go.
CT's recommendation is a good starting point.  He omitted to include his own vimeo channel which will bring the subject of BIR cooking very much alive.
Have a look here.  Copy and paste the link - just leave out the underscore.  Enjoy one of the experts at work.

Also, you may find the pdf file in this thread interesting and useful. Just ignore the bunfight that starts up afterwards :o ;D

Just explore the site and get the feel and enjoy the great food you'll create along the way.  But make sure you keep us posted on your progress mate. We just love a bit of curry porn being posted  :P

Hi Drobbly

Being a newbie myself it was such a joy to find this forum. I spent hours reading and watching videos before I made my way to the market in Peterborough to get some of the spices that I had been missing over the years. Last night I made a curry that I have been dreaming of making for years, you can see a pic on this link:

You will enjoy meandering through these posts and I hope you get your dream curry too.
Rob
