Chris has defected to CA's site, i joined it last month to see whats going down, its basically a carbon copy of this site, i also got a lovely warning PM from CA not to wind up Chris or vice versa, what a lovely way to greet a new member to his site lol
To be fair to CA what did you expect him to say? Please feel free to wind everyone up but especially Chris?

Nothing wrong in videoing someone who can cook if you want to learn but it does quite clearly indicate who has the true knowledge (Sam) - ie the teacher the the pupil - and guess what the pupil will be an author soon teaching others - bluffing the five minute knowledge to thousands! However he isint the only one and i can't blame him for seeing a business opportunity there have been others before him. There will be others after - Hey you never know me included!! Lights make up script roll em ebook!

Mick's a bit of an exception CBM - whether you like him, jealous of him or not at least he can cook a bit and to be honest both his books are just to the point - nothing fancy accompanied by videos - just the ticket for someone who is starting out. There again Chewy is another he can cook a bit and his vids have great ingredient titles, he should do an ebook!

Nearly going off thread but it is all about vids etc

best, Rich

Why do you need to come across as such a tool?

Tool?

I'm not the one hanging around TAs with a camera. So who is the tool?

But one man's chisel is another man's hacksaw.

I love videos of people making curries, no matter who makes them. It's the fastest way to learn for me. I don't see anything wrong with that (making the videos or being a viewer) either. And I admire any chef who regards himself so good in his craft that he has no issues sharing his secrets since he knows that his own curries will still be better due to the experience he has.

You can't really describe someone who makes curries in a TA as a chef - come on :)

Why not ?  We call our GPs "Doctor", even though many do not have a Doctorate, or indeed any higher qualification than a Bachelor's degree together with membership of some professional body.  One of the GPs at my local practice holds BM & MRCGP, yet no-one would dream of addressing her as anything other than "Doctor", nor would they be put off from consulting her because just she doesn't hold a MD ("Doctor of Medicine")  -- in fact, few GPs do hold an MD or higher.
