Hi Whandsy
Tilda is very good, but far too much marketing hype and price.
I also think Tilda Pure Basmati is a bit fragile, with too many broken
and different size grains, straight out of the packet.
But I agree, any supermarket own brand Basmati is poor.
But there's plenty of quality Basmati Brands out there.
HABIB Basmati is very good
Kohinoor Basmati, even their Trophy brand is all good and cheaper.
Zeeshan Basmati is good (Newcastle Importers)
But the best by far, I've used, is Zoy Basmati but it only comes in
40kg/20kg linen sacks and you never see it in retail Asian shops.
If you get the chance of some Zoy Basmati, buy it, it won't disappoint.
I'm out of it at the moment and using Zeeshan, but will be splitting a bag of Zoy with a friend, the next time he's at the wholesalers.
cheers Chewy
