I often look for alternative dishes to go with the rubies I cook at home. For this I browse the internet and flick through cook books etc., Just as we all do. Thumbing through a cheap book I bought with hundreds of recipes in it, I found a recipe for Green Beans.
After adapting it every so slightly, i'd like to share it with you as both myself and the wife think its a real winner, we hope you do too.
Green BeansIngredients600ml Water
100g Green beans
225g Tomato, sliced
1 Onion, chopped
1 Green Chilli, finely chopped
10ml Garlic & Ginger Paste
2.5ml Turmeric
2.5ml Black Cumin Seeds
2.5ml Garam Masala
2.5ml Salt
50ml Olive or Veg. Oil
MethodAdd the water to the pan and bring to the boil. Add the green beans, garlic & ginger paste, turmeric and salt then simmer for 20 mins. Add the tomatoes and garam masala and continue to cook for 5 mins or until the tomato is cooked, being careful not to over cook it. Meanwhile, add the oil to a frying pan and gently fry the onion, cumin seeds and green chilli until the onion is nicely browned. Drain the beans etc., from the pan and serve with the onion mixture on top.
