Things in onions

No, really depressing : not a single solitary spark, even viewed in a darkened room.
Now trying for five minutes, to see if it happens when they reach cremation temperature ...

It's not 1st April is it?

Maybe in some parallel universe : who knows ?!
But I am saddened to report that not a single spark was observed during a total of six minutes at 100% power in an 850W microwave oven.  And at the end of the exercise, they were somewhat softened but nowhere near cremated.  Now what can I do with a microwaved onion

DICED ONIONS
Diced onions do not contain as much water as grapes; however,
the steam pressure in them will be ejected from between the onion
layers forming a connecting conducting plasma similar to that in the
grapes. In the case of diced onions, depending on their size,
several chunks would need to be electrically aligned in a random manner
to form an antenna for arcing and burning.
These antennas will not generate as great an internal electric
field within the onion chunks as in the sparking grapes, but the effect
is similar. The onion chunks form a dielectric transmission line and
the interconnected hunks form a sort of resonant antenna to build up
the large fields required for arcing and burning>

In one word, very! Yes, I know that's four.

I'm not sure what's happened to my taste buds or indeed my aversion to trying all things hot, but for the few samples I have tried of the Mr.Naga so far, i'm hooked!

Was quite funny yesterday as I tempted the wife to try a bit. She who doesn't do hot, oddly said yes. I showed her the label several times and clear to point out the 'very hot' at the bottom of the label, but she went for it all the same. What befell was five minutes of me laughing my head off! I know that sounds awful but the look on her face as she went from "nah, it wont eb that hot" to "oh my god, i'm dying" was very comical. She went as far to say "it ought to be banned!".  ;D

I also enjoy it, having been introduced by Chriswg at the CR0 BBQ. There is something in the spicing which makes the flavour so appealing, it's not all about the flavour or heat of the nagas. I tried the competitor brand Mr Vikki's King Naga and didn't like the flavour as much. But ooops, I'm taking this thread off topic. Sorry all.

I noticed in my local TA that the fresh onions have some small red and green bits in them,I also noticed this in the video in this post (Unlocking the taste to indian takeaway from h4ppyleader),what is it and why 

finely chopped pieces of red and green pepper. Just for flavor.

Thanks for the answers guys, will try some peppers in my onions next time i cook, as for the mr naga i love the stuff my favorite curry is royal jaflong chicken from my TA and chef puts 2 teaspoons of it in.
