Lets Talk Curry / Easiest curry for 10 people?
« on: December 14, 2011, 02:01 PM »
I'm looking to put on a curry night for a few friends before xmas and I would ideally like to have it all prepared in advance so everywhere is cleaned down and all I have to do is crack open the beer and serve up!

Suggestions please!

Lets Talk Curry / Non base recipes
« on: January 28, 2010, 04:48 PM »
Hi folks, looking for a few tried and tested curry recipes that dont require a base. The sort of thing you maybe stuck by before discovering base recipes or ones you call on when you have ran out of base.

I know that its not really the intention of this site but im pretty sure there are some excellent 'non base' recipes knocking around.

Thanks

Curry Base Chat / Curry Suited to Sns Base?
« on: December 30, 2009, 03:49 PM »
Hi all,

Not posted for a while but have got the 'curry bug' once again and would like to progress things further.

I have made the BE base several times now and whilst originally I loved it, more recently I have found it to be very 'earthy' for want of a better description! And started to become disappointed by the results.

Would really like to try a diffferent base and love the look and simplicity of the Sns base however, would this base be as versatile as the BE? I Usually cook CTM, Balti, madras.

Thanks

Great replies folks, thanks! Certainly given me something to think about. I like the idea of a one pot curry particularly for this type of situation.

Any chance you would mind adding a recipe for a madras base/sauce that you use or can recommend Cory? At the min, i have only tried the BE base.

Thanks  ;)

Thanks Jerry,

Maybe i will just have to make them as a 4x at home first then transfer it all into to a bigger pot and take to work, reheat then add cooked chicken?

Lets Talk Curry / Large batch advice

I have recently made the BE base and used it for Curry kings Tikka masala. Was the best curry i have ever made!

This was (as you would imagine) made in the comfort of my own home for 4 people.

Is there any way i could knock up a Madras or reasonable chicken curry for 9-10 people in 'one pot' as i would like to cook this at work (Firestation) and need to keep it as simple as poss bearing in mind it could be 'interrupted'!

Thanks

Thanks for this recipe!! Cooked it friday for friends (my first ever attempt at BIR) with the BE base, everyone absolutely loved it!! Just like the local Takeaway (if not better!). Being in Leicester means there is a pretty high standard to match and you nailed it!

Jerry, could you just confirm the Tbsp instead of Tsp of Garlic? also, No ginger?

Cooked it to spec Friday night and my friends were blown away! Had the biggest smile on my face and 4 clean, empty plates to wash up!

Thanks
