Hi all, thought i would give you my feedback on julians base, i tried the bangledeshi (sp) base and i must say it turned out brilliantly. The big key thing for me was the consistency of the base. I managed to get it to a fairly milk flow and it looked and tastes great.

Sorry all if its going over old ground but for those in the UK looking or struggling to get hold of thease leaves....large ASDA stores stock them (generally speaking the 24hr ones or the huge Wallmart superstores) i picked up a box today after they had eluded me for about a week I have finally found them :-) 32p a box.

CA... Ive just attempted this base as my first real dabble at curry making (small steps lol) very clear and easy instructions and it looks prety much like your pic so im confident its fine...and as stated it isnt too sharp on the taste.
Cant wait to get making a curry with it soon :-)

Spiceyokooko,
Ive just come across these little gems
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/380354822806?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_1691wt_689
not as desirable as the steel pots but would do the job :-) and would stack nicley in a left over christmas roses tin or celebrations!
Going of the weights 4oz = 113g approx. (roughly two glass jars of the spices you get in the super markets, shwartz (sp) type etc)
Might give them a go

Lets Talk Curry / Spice mix storage/tins/trays

Hi all, since accuiring many spices etc in bottles...can anyone suggest a website/local supermarket that sell a large holder for spices, preferably in tins/steel pots type of thing.
Ive done the usual and looked on ebay etc but they only hold around 7 spices max and i could do with one around 20 max.
I dont want a wooden spice rack or wall shelf that they can hold bottles, i dont have to room and they look abit old tbh.
would be good to hear members thoughts on this and what you use etc and pics would be good :-) and just in general how you all store their spices.
