A great find.

Will be posting my onion bhaji recipe soon, along with a fantastic xmas snack that any curry lover cannot be without when hosting parties. Madmatts Curry Puffs.

Yes a good find and thanks for bumping. This will be on the list for a try very soon. Look forward to your Bhaji recipe as I'm looking for a good one to try and there seem to be so many out there.Madmatts Curry Puffs sound interesting  :)

Cooking Equipment / Chopping Boards
« on: October 19, 2011, 04:24 PM »
Just thought I'd share this, in case anyone's interested.

I was down in Ikea the other day picking up some storage jars, and well...a trip to Ikea to buy just one thing is never possible... when I came across this chopping board. I found it pretty annoying when using a normal sized board and preparing a large amount of vegetables etc and having to sweep them onto the worktop or onto a plate or whatever. SOooo I bought it and can confirm it does the biz.  Roughly 18" x 21" (or 46cm x 53cm) and coming in at a massive ?7.99, you can't really go wrong  ;)

Don't forget to pick up some Mineral Oil at the same time (sold in the Kitchenware Dept) because your board will need to be seasoned before you use it ;)  http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/00046786/

Tandoori Dishes / Re: Murgh Makhani (Butter Chicken)

This recipe is the dog's danglies  ;)

Followed it exactly and, although it's quite a bit of work, the results are well worth it. Suffice to say there was a fight over the left-overs at breakfast time the next day  ;D

I'm not a fan of salt so substituted fish sauce in the marinade bit and also added some raisins and flaked almonds in the final stage ( as the local restaurant does it like this...)

Many thanks for this recipe - it has already become a firm family favourite  :)

Many thanks for the welcomes  ;)

I have already had a huge success with a recipe from here (Makhani).

What a great site even if it runs a bit slowly at times  8)
