Yep, I used it when I first started all grain brewing but moved onto using a baby burco that I could control the heat on.

Trainee Chefs / Beginners Questions / Re: Stock pot size query
February 26, 2019, 09:39 AM
Thanks guys, the reason I asked is I have a huge pot like Mickyp I used to use for home brewing sat in the garage and was thinking about using it.
Will stick it on e-bay and get something a bit smaller.
Cheers,
TC

Might sound a daft question, but what is the ideal size for making the gravy if there is one?

Talk About Anything Other Than Curry / Re: Brewing beers like those you buy
March 31, 2012, 05:29 PM
Interesting thread this.
I used to be into brewing big time mainly for the regional and national competions.
I'll look out a couple of recipes if anyone wants them.
Making lager ain't much more difficult to make than ale though. lagering means simply to store at low temperatures, the secret is double or even tripel decoction mashing, soft water and the manufacture of DMS to gain the true continental flavours.
Looking forward to seeing this thread grow.

Hi Chewy,
Yes, I'm looking to produce a batch for say 8 people rather than single BIR portions, can you help?

Lets Talk Curry / Beef Madras from Scratch
April 07, 2011, 03:52 PM
We have friends coming over next weekend for a curry night, and I've decided to do a chicken and beef madras from scratch rather than BIR style.
I'm sorted with the chicken version thanks to Mikes recipe but wonder if anyone has a good beef madras from scratch recipe I could use?
Thanks for any help,
TC

Thanks Guys,
Really useful info, think I'll opt for the Meyer as I've got a gas hob.
