well, here's how it went.

Saturday........hungover, eventually make it into the kitchen around 4 bells, have a rake through the fridge and come up with onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, ginger, garlic and tomato puree.

take out the oil and lob some in the pan with some balsamic vinegar (absolutely no idea what i'm doing at this point) heat it up and lob in the veggies for 5-10 mins.........after that i added 2 cups of water & tin of copped tomatoes, lid on and simmer for 45 mins.........had a quick taste and tasted so bland it could be used in one of the wifes pasta dishes..........added some cumin powder, chilli powder and paprika (all measured by the hungover eye.....basically no idea how much went in) tested again and still bland so i lob in some madras curry powder and start to see some progress.

at this point i'm thinking, 'i should have printed off the instructions' but not admitting it to the wife as i still prance about like Gordon Ramsay in full control......W@NK

anyway, after a good 2 hours spent clueless in the kitchen i actually feel that i whipped up quite a good base/curry sauce.

please do not attempt to follow this messy recipe as it probably just tasted good at the time.

i will try a proper curry soon. ::)

thanks for that chriswg, that sounds like a plan.
i'll let you know how it goes........although looks like this could now be Saturday night as she has invited people round tomorrow night.

i'm just in Razor, was playing football so no chance of even contemplating a shift in the kitchen............not while my glass of beer needs me.  ;)

i will report back probably on Sunday...........

Hi all,

Firstly what a fantastic web-site this is, makes my me feel hungry every time i log in.

I am in need of some help. I am looking for a quick fire (not a lot of prep) lamb/chicken curry recipe. I was hoping to make this on Friday night for the good lady and myself but by the time the kids go to bed it'll be around 7:30 and i was hoping that i could whisk up something in roughly 1 1/2 hours to be ready for 9 bells.
Is this unrealistic?

your knowledge and help would be greatly appreciated.

 ;)
