how did you get the vid to show?
I just copied and pasted from youtube.
Your link looks like its doubled up. Maybe thats why it didn't embed?
I've noticed in the past that when i've tried to post a vid thats in my favourites etc, it wont embed. So i have to sign out and and go back to the video, then copy the address whilst logged out.
Frank. :)
p.s. nice idea with the foil ;)

Excellent call SL. Toying with the idea myself but i think i'll have a little treat and let someone else cook it for me just for a change ;D. I'll pass on the brinjal though, my normal delivery crowd can't cook it to the standard i like >:( Almost tempted to rattle the pans myself ::)
Tonight I made a "curry with no name" by which I mean it was an improvised recipe not based on any BIR dish. Turned out marvellously though!
Briefly, chefs spoon and a half of oil, heaped teaspoon garlic and ginger, 2 lvl tsp mix powder, 2 lvl tsp chilli powder, 1 lvl tsp methi leaves, 0.25 tsp salt..., fry till fragrant, half chef's spoon tomato pur
Chris, quite surprised to see you put the chillies in whole. Is that common practice? I've just started making my own curries and I finely chop them. Eager to learn what the more experienced curry fans do.

Vindaloo (left) and Pathia (right), both made with Chicken Tikka
that looks yummylishas Stephen Lindsay top man :)
Cheers Chris :)
Vindaloo. CA's of course.
I've skipped adding the sugar in the past but am going to slowly introduce it to my next meals.
Blades tikka as a starter with Dip's mint sauce, CA's dhansak ( CA's base and masala ) , CA's pilau rice , and for the girls Dip's chicken tikka biriani ... all with home done chapatis.
I'm yet to discover a reasonable BIR dessert ( usually majorly ming ) ... any ideas from you clever people ?
Hi Colin,
A pistachio kulfi is a superb desert IMO.
It is a type of Indian ice cream.
Usually served as a green upside down cone-shaped thing, a bit like a volcano to look at.
There are plenty of recipes out there but I suspect the BIRs buy them ready made.
Cheers,
Paul
I cooked up a big batch of Chewys base this morning then made:
- Chicken Korma (CA)
- Chicken Tikka Masala (Dipuraja's version)
- Lamb Bhuna (CA)
- Chicken Tikka Balti (C2go)
- Lamb dhansak (own)
- Chicken Ceylon (CA)
- Lamb Jalfrezi (Chewy)
- Chicken madras (Chewy)
- Saag gosht (own)
- mushroom bhaji
- Chicken Vindaloo (CA's special recipe marinaded overnight in chillies and spices)
12 blokes round for a poker night tomorrow. Curries are marinating away in the fridge in foil containers. Should taste better tomorrow than they did today.
Froze enough base for 14 more curries...happy days!! 8)
CA's Chicken Ceylon (using some turkey thigh thats in the fridge cooked see pic), Blades tikka for Garlic Chilli Chicken, CA's Pilau rice, and Dips mint sauce

I rememeber back in Rusholme, Manchester back in the early 90's before we emigrated, there were a few shops that specialised in deserts. They had these wonderfully colourful window displays. Every "cake" looked absolutely gorgeous, but tasted..............well, let's say they tasted nothing like they looked.
I remember a horrible oily, dessicated coconut with a hint of cardamom taste. When you're expecting a chocolate lamington taste it came as a real shock. :o
I'll stick to tandoori and curry! 8)
