That looks tremendous jb.

Very nice-looking spread, jb, and mega-curry porn! Judging by the photos, I can tell it would have been delicious! Makes me hungry just to look at it! :)
-
Great to see you active Jb and that's one tasty looking feast. ;)
-
A lot of work and standing around has gone into that meal! I know the feeling, well done JB!
Sometimes though when I see these big feasts, I'm reminded of a certain Monty Python sketch.. :P

I don't think I could manage a waffer-thin mint after that spread! :)

Thanks guys, the whole thing actually took me a couple of days to get together, but it was well worth it.It certainly had the taste and the smell of genuine BIR food.Actually it was probably better than some of the medicore bland tasting stuff I often get these days.
I was specifically asked to do some milder dishes, hence the korma and chasni.I've never actually cooked a korma, the last one I ate was many years ago.Kind of made it up but it tasted pretty good,my young guest said it was the best she'd had in ages. The chasni was also suprisingly good, very tasty;a bit like the punjabi massala recipe on the forum.
All in all, everything went as planned,a lot of effort but a great success.

Can't beat a wee snackette - delicious.
-
Well done, good looking spread JB,
Great feeling when friends and family enjoy your BIR cooking.
I hope you wore your Whites during your cheffing. ;D
good stuff ;)
cheers Chewy

JB super looking spread 8)
Just wondering if you have ever posted your Saag Aloo recipe on the forum?
I have looked through the side dishes thread and could not see it.
The search function hints that others have made your recipe, but I can't actually see the recipe anywhere.
Any chance you would mind posting it?
Thanks

Nice rice, JB ! (Which is not to say that the rest was not equally nice, but the rice picture really took my eye).

No, but you can hardly say that this (http://www.curry-recipes.co.uk/imagehost/pics/2d181b6939063fe84af2c3c87746b298.jpg) doesn't represent rice perfection, can you ?!

Not oven cooked just dried off in the oven which also fixes the colour. Like this.
-
Great stuff! Encouraging rice fetishes though ;)
-
Looks lovely, JB. Something for everyone there :D

Thanks,I was particularly pleased with the pilau rice.Apart from one takeaway I use,I'm afraid the standard of most pilau round my way is really average.I do like a bit of colour in my rice which most places don't seem to do anymore.OK I know it adds nothing flavour wise but it certainly looks better.
In fact I always struggled cooking perfect rice.Even with some so called 'fool proof' recipes I invariably ended up with a big clump of soggy rice. The rice was cooked on the hob and was indeed finished in the oven,if anyone is interested I'll post my recipe.

As correctly ID'd by london! Yes please JB, rice is a weakness- in both senses- of mine. Cheers!
