Armchair?
« on: April 12, 2013, 08:42 PM »
Now it may be the way I go about things... (mispelling ETC)

I have some mango powder "amchoor" I do believe... (google backs me up on the spelling?)
I was hoping to put it to use in some manner so I put it in to the search bar. Now maybe it is so unusefull that it has never been used by anyone on here but all I seem to get is "Do you mean Armchair"?#

I am fortunate enough to live somewhere that most spices are avaliable to me. How could I make use of this spice please.

Not sure about armchairs, but if you try a slightly different spelling you will find plenty of hits for "amchur" on the forum search facility ;)

AST's jalfrezi uses it. Try also amchor, or even, mango powder

You generally use Amchoor (unripe ground mango powder) when you want a souring agent or something to add a sour flavour, perhaps to counteract sweetness.

You could try adding some to your Tandoori or Tikka spice mix.

I have Heera Amchoor powder.

I am sure bought mine for a tikka mix powder as used in a book
by Pat Chapman. I will find it if you want me to.
