Must confess guys I was sceptical at first and read up on it - finding of course a quackery jibe from a UK surgeon as one negative - but then he would wouldn't he - affects his 'trade'. A lot of positive reports from many people who have been treated - but note whilst the succcess rate is given as fairly high - not 100%. For the relatively low cost involved - versus the alternative surgery option with pain / recovery time - and with knees restricted use - i.e you cannot kneel down again ! - well worth a shot. Stamford clinic negotiating with football league teams apparently as part of their private health insurance scheme for players

Talk About Anything Other Than Curry / Re: Livo

Just as a matter of interest, my wife had been having knee problems for a year or so - so went private to see specialist after usual NHS fob offs with arthritis comments. Guy x rayed her knee - steroid injection which helped for 3 months - but comment was - new knee sooner or later due to wear and tear bone 0n bone pain - which she dreaded having only ever been laid up once - triple heart by-pass.
Our youngest daughter ( degree prescriber nurse) commented she'd had good reports from a gym fitness teacher who had a similar problem - but opted for private cell regeneration treatment - a German pioneered system - not widely available in UK - but possible. Had the treatment and was back doing gym classes after 6 months. Our daughter spoke to the co. - based in Stamford Lincs and we decided it sounded real enough to give it a go. Cost was

Really Bad British Indian Restaurants / Re: The Bengal Dynasty, Llandudno.

I was in Llandudno this last weekend on full board basis at the St George Hotel and spotted the Bengal Dynasty of this threads fame. Looked it up on Tripadvisor in the terribel review section. Hilarious write ups - not even worth a look through the door to see what's what from the comments made. I see the Jaya at Deganwy has now closed too

Highly Recommended British Indian Restaurants / Dishoom Bridge St Manchester

This place opened las November and had excellent reviews in local paper - with queues outside. Finally got round to trying it last weekend. Had to queue to get in - strange policy re booking - can book up to 5:45pm - thereafter minimum table for 6 to book. Sited in the old Masonic buildings - brilliant listed building / decor. I have been here to a masonic do 30 + years ago.
30 minute wait to get in -well worth it. Slick / efficient operation here. They give out brollies to the queue if its raining and hot drinks to tide you over and book you in as you wait.
Quite a good, varied & different menu. Will take a few visits to get through this.
Expensive, but worth it.

Had my first ever goat curry here last night. Brilliant. Very nice place to eat. Tad on the dear side - but as ever, you get what you pay for when eating out (nearly always).

Lets Talk Curry / Re: 70's Curry

My intro curries was in the early 60s. Brilliant Indian run by an ex Gurkha in Altrincham called The Taj on Church St. Fantastic madras prawn or chicken. Not really tasted anyhting like the madras from there since. There was a good Indian on Princess St Manchester around same period called Taj Mahal. Madras in their was pretty hot. Vindaloo too much so. They also did a Phaal - but no one ever dared try it - the waiter would put you off ordering it. My mare Pete asked for a Phaal chicken once - ate it - I tasted it - too much for me. When he

There are containment ways for disposing of nuclear waste Phil. I have been involved in concrete concerned for both building production facilities and waste containment. Very stringent specifications.

Interesting thought - they would need fewer of them - and why not if the technology was sorted. The Chinese have a good trackre ord in getting stuff right - albeit they steal most of the technology / expertise, then improve on it
