Dont you just love looking round some else's work place - the health and hygiene people in the UK would have a heart attack - and all cooking under raw meat carcases - love it
The guy was so calm and just  plodding on - i wonder how many he turns out in a day?

Well done Chewy

Fantastic stuff Rich, I really like hearing about your time in Thailand. Do you have enough ex-pats to sell your curries to?

Cheers,

Paul

We are a very small outfit - selling one or two

5 kilos of onions :o :o.  That's positively commercial to the amount i cook up.  Are you in practice for opening up your own BIR jedkev :D.  Welcome to the forum.

Hey CH ive just peeled and chopped 25 kilos of onions this morning and its only 0704 am mind you i am a little commercial - got a couple of bases to do today and Chicken Tikka - LOVE doing Chicken Tikka i just have to sample a piece or two when it comes out of the tandoor - mind you its market day first then back at it

I think Jedkev is a little commercial - wonder what he is doing and where - Jedkev what are you upto??

Hey Christy
When you are in your local Indian grocers ask them do they make their own garam masala etc not the standard packets that are on sale - you might pick up a recipe or two!!

Cheers George - i am trying to get hold of insulation but its a heck of a hard job - im sure it will happen eventually.

The garden centres are NOT the same as the UK with an abundance of bits and bobs - that is one thing with this place - they are trying to become more western because of the westerners living here suggesting to their Thai partners and friends how to make these businesses but its a long long way short.

Guys - there is a lot of ripping off here too!
But having said that there is a lot more of the old fashioned trust as well a deal is a deal with the working class - ie the potter he didnt know me from Adam and was prepared to make a tandoor from my guidance - and i paid a small deposit and didnt get in touch with him for 2 weeks - i went back as arranged and they took it out of the brick kiln - i should have had a camera for the whole thing to document - next time!!!
The working class people here are so brilliant - the problem lies in the Western influence
Unfortunately the quality of life cannot be matched between here and in the UK - if you are prepared to go a miss on things which you can readily have there. Dont get me wrong im British through and through - but lets be honest its cold damp and wet at the mo - we sat in the garden and ate watermelon from the fridge yesterday - it was 32 degrees and it is just starting with the hot season.

And the markets to say the least are a curry mans dream!! fresh chilies, coriander, tomatoes, potatoes, peppers
