Every psychologist knows that olfactory senses are by far the most reminiscent. I learned that in Psychology 101! I can't explain why you don't remember however. Had a hard hit on the head by a giant cardamom pod perhaps  ;D

Quite possible about the cardamon although I can't remember, look on the bright side at least I can enjoy my curries without worrying that they do not match up to something I ate 18yrs ago. ;D

From experience, not Tumeric though, if the stain is that bad you should contact your insurers who will give you the number of their approved cleaners they will then assess the problem and advice accordingly.

Can't think of any miracle cure, Tumeric is a real b****** for staining as numerous shirts of mine will testify.

Tesco do sell ready made ginger but to be honest it's so easy to make your own using fresh ginger and the blander which I also find is better.

Cheers point taken, I wasn't advertising it just passing on something of mild interest.
