Hi All

Had the day off so got an early start on dinner got the chicken tikka in the fridge marinating by half 8 then moved onto making the sauces one of my current favorites is a achari ghost i usually have lamb but didn't have any so it was chicken tikka which works well the recipe is a variation of chewy's i like to use pickled mango and pickled jalapeno peppers in mine gives it a nice meaty taste which is why i usually go with lamb, blades chicken gives a strong tikka flavour which works well. I also made a chicken tikka pathia and mushroom fried rice and fried off some poppadoms.

Hi All

There is a big sale on at my Asian supermarket at the moment so i had a walk around the catering side of the warehouse and came across this it was 6 quid now i just have to find a use for it it's allot of chutney i love the stuff and I'm sure this is the one my bir use so i might need some new teeth by the time it's gone it also has the catering sized of the big 3 that seem to get used in most bir's tikka, tandoori and kashmiri on sale would it  be worth buying them don't know if i would use them.

Hi Willy

Have you tried the spicy ones and if so are they any good i will be picking a pack of each up have you  frozen them and then used them and  does that change the texture i'm thinking of sticking a couple of pack in the freezer for when i have not got time to make my own.

Hi CH

When i say tweak it's basically fine chopping the  fresh garlic and i went for the 3 teaspoons of chilli powder which was about right for me the only other thing is i like to chop thefresh  chillies and fry them at the same time as the fresh garlic i find this takes the edge of the rectum the morning after.

Hi All

I finely got round to making this on thursday ready to eat on friday it's got great flavour but as i have said in a different thread i sliced the garlic to thick and didn't like the texture ill be making again tomorrow with a few tweaks.

cooked thursday i like to cook the day before when there is a lot of chilli involved so i can clear the nose and enjoy the taste more.

Hi Axe

They are not going to have the airy lightness of a BIR naan due to them not  being fresh but they are not doughy or stodgy like alot of supermarket ones and the flavour is good when i put them under the grill the  side with the garlic and coriander on had like an oily finish as if they had been brushed like a fresh BIR naan and for ?1.60 for 3 if you have not got the time to knock up your they would not be a bad substitute but thats just my opinion.

HI All

I  was having a walk around my Asian supermarket today wasn't even planning to but anything but these caught my eye they did them in plain, garlic and coriander and spicy must admit it was the  packaging more than anything that caught my eye but they look and felt different to the normal packaged ones you get so i thought I'd try them and as packaged naans go they are quite good you get 3 propper sized naans for ?1.60 the other thing was they have a short use by date which means they are not standing on the shelf for months, anyway has anyone else tried them?
