Curry Base Chat / Re: Cool b4 blending?

Yes phil, ive experianced blow out with a goblet blender in the past, now opted for a hand blender, far safer and save's the mrs moaning that half the base sauce is all over the kitchen! and i have to clean it up, >:(

bassar mix (pakistani massala powder) ive used this mix and its hot, not suitable for base sauce, + the chilli powder??? its shows in the final dish because my mrs complained about it last year when i used it, salt content for this recipe is far to high. would make an elephant sick! so would the turmeric or turmy. paprika, thick, heavy, grainy,
spices to thick and heavy for the onion content.

Hi haldi, well i cook madras, mild chicken curry and saagwala. you may find by just addind a little more cucumber to the next base you will see more of a difference, its how much suits you as you know its a case add to much and your base is trashed, glad the rogan was your best, you will see that the combination in that dish were good, as like your rogan my madras, c chicken curry turned out superb, hope it opens a better gateway for you, i did for me,
cheers

To be fair i only cook for my wife and myself, ive never cooked for any family or friends they are not curry eaters, the guy from the flying club i dont know him that well but yes its nice to know you have your currys spot on.
maybe you would like to try my recipe, its one for sure i'll not change, or is it no one will try it because it has cucumber added to the base, have a go!

Hi rob, After watching the video as ive watched a few times julian tells you only what he wants you to know, One example was when he was adding the spices to the base mixture he say's there are 18 different spices, he names a few then says every chef has his own secret, well if he's going to tell everyone the true secret why not name the rest of the spice's! that then left a few folk on here asking the question too what the rest of the spices were! so in my eyes he's not really telling you the exact recipe, again a guessing game, and secondly, as with all the bir videos its all for publicity.

cheers.
