Madras before the meat.

If it's without the meat, what are the two "chunks", please, RD?

Two quarters lemon  - given a twist then dropped in the sauce.  ( as per Julian's recipe )

Not got the meat in there as I prepared in the morning. let it cool then added pre cooked tikka and reheated in oven.  Must admit the tikka was a little over done before I used it but was not wasting it.  ;D  Far too tight for that.

Will do better next time.

Well having been dragged out Saturday, curry day was moved to Sunday.

Bit disappointed with the Madras though.  Either burnt the spices a bit or used too much lemon juice. Can't quite put my finger on it but the finished product was a little darker than usual. Quite brown in fact. Family still seemed to appreciate though and I do always ask them for HONEST comments.  ;)

Spices / Cloves

Simple question.
When cloves are required is it best to use the ones with the little round heads in or does it not matter? Is the 'cloviness' in the stem , the head or in both?

Now that is strange. Normally use black but now realise that since cooking BIR style I have not used any. Previously the majority of my main course dishes would start by popping some mustard seeds in oil. Now, never use them. I suppose there is still a place for them in side dishes, breads etc?

It is justified by the right of all members to have their say ( yes including you ) provided that that say is within the rules of the forum and do not go outside the boundaries of decency etc.  what right therefore follows for an individual to choose which posts get deleted and which do not just because others disagree?

I do not intend to make further comment regarding your style of moderation. Life is really too short and I have some curry porn to upload.  ;)

My vote - leave the posts as they are. Lock the thread perhaps but do not delete.

Happy to expand with reasons but suffice to say, moderators should not get involved in this type of diatribe. I do not mean offence by that but the thankless task of moderation should be restricted to just that and cannot and should not be combined with the type of comments made within this thread.
