Many thanks for this Chris. My next project/investment. The ready mades I've been buying have been sort of OK but they contain quite a bit of fat that I could do without.  Do you have a ratio for wholemeal flour, or is it the same?  Cheers, Rob.

the same ratio Rob but try to let the dough rest for longer minimum 1 hour.

Thanks for this Chris ,

I tried this yesterday evening and it worked exactly as in the video ... the best chapatis I've made for sure .. I didn't have a 'fluffer' so I used the wire rack from the oven as suggested ... perfect !!!   :)

thanks for the feedback colin  ;) no turning back for you now... i get a buzz every time i watch one puff up  ;D

I have in the past tried making chap's with the aid of a few youtube vids but not with much success.
I must say Chris, aside from not having the Kenwood I think even I could acheive reasonable results following your method.
I am just returning to work after a while out and once i get this bl*#dy month in hand business out of the way I have plenty to be trying out and this is definately on the list.
A very enjoyable video.
                                      Cheers!
thanks Tommy and good luck in the new job.

buy one of these they are only 10 pound and 1 pound each for the gas bottles
OK, with herself away in Abu Dhabi I will probably get away with it.  But if I am murdered on her return, you will have to live with that on your conscience !  The illustration looks very much like one of these, but what are the three additional yellow buttons you have on the front of yours ?

** Phil.

haha... feed her some chapati's then tell her  ;) not buttons Phil stickers

sit back and enjoy the video... you will never buy chapatti's again...!  please feel free to comment.
Could you possibly record another version, this time using an induction hob ?!  But to be more serious, have you ever tried puffing a chapatti over a halogen hob, and if so, with what success ?

** Phil.
sorry Phil i only have gas we use to have a halogen hob, i hated it but easy to clean.
