I see on his website he is selling aluminium curry pans for ?12.99, they look to be the kind you see all the take aways using..

I ordered one today,I had a job finding one locally, they were all alluminium but were the non-stick variety. They certainly do look like the sort I've seen used in T/A kitchens.

Yep keep those posts coming very interesting indeed. This reminds me a little of the pre cooked bhuna onion recipe in the Curry Crunch Book, although that does have a lot more ingredients in it.

I cooked some tikka and naans in my tandoor yesterday
Then I used my "sizzler" to finish it off
I overdid the onions but the general effect and aroma was excellent
I had to season the sizzler before use
I burnt oil onto it (same as you do for a wok)
I can't attach a picture folks, sorry
The server keeps giving a "full" error
But the cast iron is black, the tikka is orange, the pepper is green and the onion transluscent with a bit too much black!!
It doesn't do anything for the taste, but the aroma really gets those dinners' juices going and for presentation it cannot be beaten.  Tikka starters or sheek / shami kebabs just don't seem right unless presented on a sizzler :D  Glad you're enjoying it Haldi.  I'm still envious of jb though >:(  Haven't heard a word since the tandoor was announced.  Look forward to some feedback soon ;D

I actually unpacked it today,Xmas has been very busy and I haven't been at at home much.It was very well packed indeed,a wooden crate on a pallet which weighed an absolute ton!! Eventually I cut through the metal banding wire surrounding the case and there it was...my own shiny tandoori oven!!! Complete with a naan bread cushion which still makes me laugh for some reason!! I think I've really  bored everyone to death now who comes round talking about it!!!  I can't wait to try it;don't worry guys reports(and pics)will be posted.

Thanks guys,I can't wait to use it,the neighbours will probably think I'm having a mid-Winter Barbecue!!!  Have to say there's not many dedicated BIR Tandoori books out there, guess I'll have to have a re-look on the forum.I was pretty satisfied with my tikka/tandoori cooking already so hopefully now I can really step it up.

Hi Mick, regarding your book.
You say "Measuring 8 x 8 inch so it will lay open on your kitchen worktop when you use it."

Does this mean it has a ring binder, and perhaps laminated?
Also, how many pages?
Cheers, Frank  ;)

Hi Frank,
Just to let you know the story...
The PDF that I have made has sold well for over 18 months.
It was bought by the owner of a business with publishing interests.
They spoke with me with a view of redesigning and printing the PDF as a book to go with Spice kits that they would be selling.
It was to allow anyone to make BIR style food from the one package.
For every kit they sell I would get a percentage.
I can sell the book separately as I wish. I have no other involvement with their products.

The book was in A5 format and was about 75 pages, now that it has been printed in a larger size it allows the book to stay open when on the worktop. The larger size means more information per page hence less pages, now 48, which means it was of a size that suited stapling.
I don't think for one minute that some of the more advanced chefs on here will necessarily learn anything new but there are plenty of people around who aren't as good as those who look down on a little free enterprise.

Some on here may have realised that I haven't said anything about the book on cr0, out of respect to the members. I didn't want to be accused of using this site for the purpose of advertising but as it has been raised then I will speak about it when asked.

I hope that answers your question.

Cheers,
Mick

Fair play to you mate,I actually brough the PDF,thoroughly good read,I thought your videos were excellent as well.
