totally agree with all of the above.

first takeaway i've had in 9 or 10 weeks.

just spent 19 tokens on a meal for 2 (including delivery.lol) from (shall remain nameless)
couldn't order from my normal place as they don't deliver this far.

poppadoms - binned
spiced onions - binned
chicken bhoona - totally bland - binned (nuclear red colour - says it all)
beef vindaloo - passable (only because i've had a few beers)
pilau rice - tasteless and well overcooked/sticky clumpy mass of shit
naan bread - insipid tasteless crispy crap

overall, my home made efforts of late blow these poor imitations out of the water.

all in good time my friend.

you cannot speed up nature.

from my limited experience.......

forget the paintbrush for pollination.

take your finger, run it around the inside of the first flower and then go from flower to flower, pollinating as you go.... :)

you will notice that the flowers may wilt and turn a brown colour.

this is a good sign. the chilli fruit will appear from there soon.

BTW your plants look totally fine IMO

let us know how they turn out.

cheers :)

made the base 2 weekends ago. not to spec as such. the only difference being I had it on the hob for 12 hours.lovely aromas, lovely taste.
made the fresh chilli paste (100 birds eyes and some oil blitzed to a paste) and popped it in the freezer in an ice cube tray.
last weekend i attempted the madras but not as spec. Added 1 tbsp kashmiri chilli powder.
stunning result. the best yet. better than any t/a i've had in the last 5 years or so.
don't know if it was the base or if my technique has improved after numerous hours of watching videos but absolutely top notch curry both in taste, smell, texture, the lot.
The same as Haldi, i was getting fed up with bang average curries, this has done it for me..curry nirvana.
also made the Bhuna...quite good but not to my taste. mrs loved it.
making the same madras again this weekend, and the next, and the next, and the next.....

in agreement with garp.

made this a few times..keep returning to it when i'm fed up with my unsuccessful attempts at creating the ultimate madras
