You're probably right it's just I bought a load of tinned mushrooms cheap, they work great with a fry up.

Thanks for that guys, what is you preferred method of precooking the potatoes simply boiling ?, someone suggested cooking in some base sauce.

I've just got back form Halfords and have had a little play with it, for the money you can't go wrong, very easy to load a gas canister. It states that it's 2.5 KHW which works out at 8530 BTU, I'm sure that will be plenty for what I will be using it for. Link below if anyone is interested.

After some research they all seem much of a muchness probably all made in the far east maybe in the same factory, Halfords have them for 10 quid and 2 quid each for the canisters, so I'll go there as it's only 5 minute away.

I have a poxy ceramic hob which is not very controllable at all and was thinking about buying a portable single gas hob to use for making currys does anyone have a recommendation for one, the type that use propane canisters not the one that look like you could power a hot hair balloon with.

Last 8 minutes brushed with butter and turned half way through and brushed again, maybe my oven is hotter then yours when set at 180c or the chicken was drier than yours but smothered in the mint sauce is was OK. It works as a stand alone tikka. I prefer not to use tikka in a curry as it can alter the taste of the dish, when making a curry I usually precook the chicken in a drop of base sauce.

Just had this with chicken tikka and it's a great sauce, I made it without the sugar.

Just eaten this and the shan mix is very nice the chicken was a bit dry but tender I was able to cut it with a fork, had it with salad and Dip's mint sauce which is as good as if not better than most T/As, if you haven't tried the sauce give it a go you won't be disappointed just leave the sugar out. Maybe our ovens are at a different temp when set to 180c. I'll be using your method again but maybe drop the temp a bit.

PS Shan mix 69p for 50g only used about 3/4 of the pack for 6 large chicken breasts.
