Ashes said....

"Yes the "Balti triangle" is pretty run down area... i know i lived not far away, and some of the places had glass tops with menus under (some still do..) think thats cool tbh.
although the ambience was a little dodgy with the strip-lighting and bolted down seats.

Another gimmick was that the nans were huge but werent included, they were ordered seperately and no knives and forks were included either. These places werent usually licenced either..(very cheap) there was usually an off-licence near by, and you could happily turn up and the Balti place would provide glasses or open bottles as needed"

very very funny.... the bolted down seats did it for me  :-)))) ha ha bet they were
plastic too, spot on post Ashes.

Yes !! outside cooking.

I always do lots of cooking on our bbq
and its side burner, I just hose
the area down, no mess in the kitchen.

spot on !

as well as powder i belive
you need the green chilli flesh from
to add depth.

a gimmick.

some very hot bir currys taste uncooked
but are very very hot, with out depth just hot
and powdery (like red slop).

a poor show, like powder has just been put in
at the last min.

Others have depth and taste and heat and are dark in colour,
and very nice.

both could be called vindaloo etc.

I once came across a site with text,
Bohemian Rhapsody started to
play on a stylophone, very funny.

I never did find it again :-(

thank alot CP i may try some.

I have used Bolsts in the past and just buy a small tin for about 80 pence
as i need it.

However i noticed they now have big bags at around 1.80,
I guess about 10-15 tins worth. At times we pay alot for a tin !
