if you are just starting out on your BIR journey then I can recommend you check out chewytikka's pressure cooker base as an easy starting point.

as for a blender recommend, I have a bamix stick blender and a magixmix le blender and they are both excellent for making a smooth base

I've been buying their 10kg bags of Trophy Basmati rice at ?10.39,  and it's definitely up there with some of the best I've ever bought.

totally agree with all the previous posts..  absolutely lovely looking dish you've given to us CH.

BTW, I'm now a 10th dan samosa ninja thanks to your teachings ;)  I can knock out a dozen or so in no time at all these days and they always go down a storm (another of your great contributions)

I've tried baking them and the results are disappointing.

Stick with frying them if possible

This is definately the best samosa making technique, it's foolproof with superb results.

I've have been accused of buying them before now, they turn out so good friends don't believe I made them. They're far better than my local TA or anything you can get in a shop.

Anyone who's not attempted them is missing out.  First time making them seems a bit laborious but once you get the hang of it and done it a few times you'll be flying and experimenting with different fillings.

I make these regularly and can knock out 2 dozen in no time these days.

Chicken curry and beef vindaloo fillings always go down a storm.  ;)

will post some pics next time I make some (probably this weekend)
