Talk About Anything Other Than Curry / Powelifting!
November 28, 2011, 08:34 PM
Hi,

Anyone into powerlifting on this site or wants to consider it, I have a little experience & I am glad to help any new people to the sport.  :)

I?m currently doing the Stronglifts 5X5, I am on week 6 of my 10 week phase.

Main Goals (Single rep/lift).

500LB Deadlift
500LB Squat
340LB Bench Press (this will be the hardest to achieve this year me thinks) after that my ultimate goal is a single lift 500LB Bench Press.

Lifts that I do & current weights used for reps...

Overhead Press: 139.5 LB for 5 sets of 5 reps...
Bent over Row (Overhand Grip): 191.25LB for 5 Sets of 5 reps...
Bench press: 204.75LB 5 sets of 5 reps...

I have loads of weight training e- books if anyone wants them emailed, just PM me.

Just Joined? Introduce Yourself / Re: Hello!

I'm sure on this site, when i was last on here four years ago we discussed the thicker old skool curries & we made them with great results.

If you want to go old style, the best way is the oven method as you will invariably make the curries too thick initially as you learn to get the runny consistency right.
Half of the trick is spice powder quantities making a rich dark sauce & allowing to reduce in the oven.  :)

If you use the oven method you can cut out the curry base with great results  ;)

Thanks again peeps, i do recognise some of the names here too  :)

Love the poster unclebuck  ;D ;D

I will be trying to compile some extra info & post soon. However the basic curry base is as is. Some of the old rules still apply, remember cooking all day & not being able to taste the smell etc.. Still applies.

Also many curry houses have loosened their grip on the taste & most i have been too make a far, far lower standard curry than most of us. My old fave BIR in Newquay turned to utter rubbish many years ago, never been there since.

If in Cornwall i do recommend the Raj in Wadebridge, the other, the bash begaan is under a new name but does a fine job. It?s now the Sagor.

As for being duped, I would say it was inter forum politics.

That?s the past & many of us are older & wiser  ;)

Don?t worry; I?m still crazier than ever, if you?re into cars go here http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/
Good plug for this site as Detailing world is massive, one of my product reviews is already over 16K views in less than 6 months woohhooo!

I?m on as ITHAQVA, plenty of laughs but a very fine group of mature self-governing people of all ages, colours & creeds.

Anyhow back on topic.

Thanks again for the warm welcome. Hope to add some spice to your lives soon.
