What about that depresses you, Phil? Is it the devaluing of 'Chicken Tikka'?

This one seems to have been forgotten.

I nominate:

I've never tried the above so I cannot vouch for them, but I think they're a good starting point.

Anyone got any more, or perhaps comments on whether the above should be included or excluded?

Lets Talk Curry / Re: BIR/TA Portion Sizes?

For me it greatly depends on the restaurant and how many sides you have. Even from the same restaurant portion sizes differ. Sometimes it would be enough for two, other times it wouldn't. Typically, I'll have one main, one rice and a naan.

Lets Talk Curry / Re: Big Pot of curry!

My God, that is fantastic!  :D

Kudos for doing that - can't have been easy. What was the reaction? Did everyone like it?

Can we have the recipe for 6, please?  ;D ;D

I suppose it depends on what 'overnight' means - how many hours would that be. Also depends on the quantity being cooked, as you say. Not sure much would be gained from the extending the time when breaking down the veg. Extending the time for the final simmer, is another matter altogether, but I don't think this is what is meant by 'cooking overnight'.

leroyb - have you made a curry with this base yet? Thoughts?

I was going to say is this your new pan's debut.  :D

Anyway, nice video. Must admit I've never had butternut squash in a curry before, but that does look lovely. Nice one.

Looking good!  :)

This is on my list to do, along with the Malayan (have you tried this one yet?).

I completely agree Solar and thought exactly the same when doing the Bombay group test.

I think the categories should be as follows:

  • Taste (needs a heavier weighting)
  • Appearance
  • Texture
  • Ease to make

Bloody hell that is a lot of people!  :o

I've made a double batch of a number bases (SNS, CA, Razor, Taz, etc) and they turned out fine. However, I've never gone beyond that, so wouldn't be able to advise on producing a 3x, 4x, etc. base.

Good luck!
