Let us know how you get on with this, Chris. So, essentially you need to add one potato to the recipe in the OP to make Az's base - is that correct?

Have you managed to acquire a spec for his spice mix?  ;)

wife was reaching for the screen - moist

:o

I'll admit, when I read this I thought "wait....what?" - but I don't think you meant what I initially interpreted!  ;D

Rude thoughts aside, that Tikka does look wonderful Mick.

I'm not fussed really and I don't really mind. I don't think adding Chicken Tikka to, say a Madras, improves the dish, but it does change it and it can be nice for a change (although I do think the change is subtle).

In terms of home cooking though, I never add Chicken Tikka to my mains. In fact, I am increasingly using raw instead of pre-cooked.

Wow that is a great opportunity!  :o

2 weeks is a long time so you should be able to get quite a bit of detailed info. Personally, the exact details of the entire process of making a Madras would be brilliant - starting from the very beginning (base, spice mix) right up to the finished dish.

Any chance of pics or videos? That would be priceless!  ;D

The author even says in the the Kushi book that making the marinade is a true test of ones patience as you must constantly stir the marinade for 45 minutes to an hour to prevent it sticking while it simmers.

B*llocks to that!  ;D

Let's forget that one then, unless the results are truly worth the effort.

So, at the moment it stands:

5 is probably about the limit, unless others disagree. Just had another quick whiz through the forum and the below are probably the most notable exclusions. Again I cannot vouch for these so cannot say whether they should be included (probably at the cost of another recipe) or not.

Another good video Chewy - nice one.  :)

I presume you've uploaded a new video because it does actually say '1tbs sugar'.
