Hi Chris you say in the video of using tablespoons but you are using a desertspoon, 1.5 tbsp but you only put in 1.5 dsp.
Not being picky but would like to try this recipe.
Cheers.

Lets Talk Curry / Re: Chicken madras with mango?

I have made this but using mango pulp instead of chutney

http://www.greatcurryrecipes.net/2012/01/22/how-to-make-chicken-madras-a-curry-house-favourite/

Fruity is the word.

I have made a Cocktail Chicken Madras for  friend who asked me to do something different, so out came the tin of fruit cocktail http://www.tesco.com/groceries/Product/Details/?id=258556632

He and his misses loved it wasn't really my kind of dish but i did eat my helping, i also used Chicken Tikka when i made it.

Right at the end of Undercover Curry book there is a recipe for Chicken Tikka Masala using tinned fruit cocktail blended, tried this too it's not like anything i have tried local to me but it is well worth giving it a go for something unusual from the normal Chicken Tikka Masala.

Bengali Bob you should really take a look at this site http://www.cook4one.co.uk/c2/index.html

This is the Mango pulp i use http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/tesco-price-comparison/tinned_fruit/natco_mango_pulp_sweet_alphonso_450g.html

What recipe are you using, you have an array of pictures of your curries on here but no written recipes.
Come Bob you have to share  ;) ;D

My opinion on buying chicken from supermarkets is stay away you can pay up to double the amount per kilo than you would from your local butcher, you may think you are getting "a good deal" because you have 4 breasts for x amount but it's the weight. Take a look next time.
Also it's the quality of the meat, there is a difference.

The last chicken i got was 23.99 GBP for 10 kg= 34 chicken breasts of which 5 kg was tikka'd and the other was BBQ'd with no seasoning so it can be used for anything and then froze.

Hi clives from the Midlands myself, where are you based?

We went on the Saturday Bob i was mainly looking for Naga chillies but only found one stall selling them, which was the same one i got a chilli grinder from last year. https://curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php/topic,8345.msg73773.html#msg73773

We spent most of the day by the cider tent, did wander around every now and again and tried some wonderful food.
This place http://www.thechillitree.com/

They are doing a naga pickle/sauce/chutney at the end of the month so will be keeping a close eye on their website. To me their produce was much more tasty than most of the stalls there.

I would suggest if you try this recipe again fry the whole spices longer than stated in recipe and use fresh garlic and ginger, the green chillies should have given a little flvour too, because of the amount of yoghurt used and water, the oil has to be the main flavouring in this dish because of no base being used, i have made this dish before it wasn't excellent but it was enjoyable to a certain degree.
Another thing did you use Olive oil?
if so don't next time just use vegetable oil.

It's a shame it came out so bland because it looks absolutely delicious.

Yes i will be going Bob.
