hi jerry try the original V-slicer. it is a little expensive but oyu get all the gadgets with it and compared to the imitations that you used to be able to get in woolies. i know wilkinsons do one for 5pounds. alternatively use your multichef to finely cut the onion and pepper. when you say that restaurants would not pre fry the onion and peppers i would disagree remember that the scale they are cooking on anything they can prepare in advance they do, use your fryer or do them in the pan you are cooking with shallow frying until coloured at the edges.
some birs boil the above in water and turmeric and salt for 30 mins until soft.

btw the guy who demonstrates the v-slicer goes to all the county shows and has been on ideal shopping channel doing these in a deal with them says it it is the fastest chipper in the world, sad as it may sound i could watch him do the demos for hours and have done as it used to be in a loop on 1 of the tv channels after normal programming has finished ;D

hi jerry only this week i bought a mini fryer in wilkinsons for ?9gbp and so far i have cooked the perfect chipshop chips twice, onion bhajis and chicken pakoras. all turned out really well. it says 1 litre/900w but the oil capacity is 500ml which is ok for the smaller portions but for 9gbp it was a fantastic buy and as it seems half the price of aldi and the only other place i have seen one was in argos for 14.99gbp. so if you have a wilkinson store nearby then go for it, or go online www.wilko.co.uk. it has settings from 80c upto 190c and a setting for cooking frozen food too, and you can just make out the pictures for different types of food on the front as well.

hi guys/girls
thought is was about time to ask this queston again (as we have a few new members)
as we all know that chicken tikka masala is the favourite curry in the uk at the moment, but how true is that on this forum? if you were to go into a takeaway or restaurant what curry would you order or in fact cook?

personally i would cook/order a chicken vindaloo or a phall but just lately have had the munchies for a chicken chilli masala.

hope this post will inspire a miriad of newbies to post.

hi bar
yes i do use it in rice dishes, can understand why you got it in a bhuna as i use it in adapted(portion wise )when i cook Bruce edwards curryhouse cookery chicken chill masala the aroma given off when frying the fine chopped onions/peppers/chillies is fantastic. it is also used in his recipe for pilau rice. it's properties are used for arthritis suffers as are many other spices that have 2 uses in cooking and medicinal!
hope this helps

hi jerry
it is under the heading rajver curry powder mix in supplematery section. so have you got the 8.0kw version of your 2.5 kw stove you bought back in august from hamilton gas? as it is very reasonably priced when you compare it to a 7kw hot wok which you can pay almost 100gbp for
