Takes me back to boyhood in Bermondsey....jellied eels followed by a glass of Sasparilla.

I picked up a good second hand copy a couple of years back as my original is completely splattered and dog eared. That one goes into the kitchen to suffer a little more whilst the later copy is the one I peruse when waiting for inspiration to strike.
I must admit I also bought the illustrated hardback edition when it came out only a few years back. Some sort of OCD I reckon!

Ox cheeks turned out beautiful. 3 hours on a low heat I ended up with a richness in the sauce that I have never achieved with lamb. Went down really well with wife and daughter who dropped by at just the right time.

Knocking this up again today using ox cheeks from Sainsbury's. This is going to take a long and slow simmer. Couple of hours on a very low heat I reckon.
I'll let you know how it pans out.

I do cook this a lot, it is my default curry. Usually with lamb from the leg but I will always try it with other cuts.

Andama on the high street and Nissiotis on the beach were both very good.
Avoid anything pretending to be a pub and anything named after a TV programme.

I blew it out and went local...I know, I know, an opportunity missed but I will likely be back there and will try it when I don't have a flight next day.
By the way we are off to Sorrento on Monday...any tips on eateries aside from the A'lantica?
