what brand do forum members recommend that tastes like the one we get in the BIR?
every time i see one i have not tried i buy one jar to try but as yet my favourite so far (almost the cheapest)is the coop brand which i dilute 25% with water before serving.

went to buy the ingredients to have a go at base gravy but on seeing creamed coconut had a level of saturates 54g/100g reluctantly decided not to having been put on statins by GP . will stick with SnS's june 2008 base and incorporate the Ashoka recipes and procedures.

I think it varies, measured mine as 100mls and I go for 3 ladles.
Thanks for the reply I suppose 200-300ml represents a medium to large portion and go by that as a guide

i agree with sns and currywalla i bought universal curry base at tescos in boston lincs tried it and found the final curry to be harsh and raw
