Hi all. This is the fruits of my labour today.
With the disappointment of not receiving the correct skewers, no Seekh Kebabs today. But I may just make them tomorrow any without the skewers, just using the skewers I got (which are the rubbish thin ones, you all know the ones!!!)...we will see..

Anyway, this is my trio of Lamb (mutton) curries. Cooked the mutton as per Curry2Go eBook instructions and made up some Lamb Stock to go in the curries themselves. Only had a quick taster of each going to enjoy them tomorrow.

Also, got some Blades Tikka marinating in the fridge, so will cook that tomorrow along with the Seekh Kebabs and get some Onion Bhajis out the freezer and that will be our starters.

Anyway, here are the curries...

I will get some more pics on this thread tomorrow with all the starters, and the taste test of the starters! :)

Could well be interested mate, they are exactly what I am after. Are you happy to post them to Australia?

Give me a day or two, as I am going to see if I can get some made here in Perth. If it works out that I can't, or they are mega expensive....and you are happy to send them to OZ, i'll take them off your hands.

Thanks for the offer and I won't keep you waiting. :)

Yeah, definitely happy to send them to OZ mate, no problem. I will check the postage prices and send you a PM so you know the total price.

Hi tongey

Just seen your picture thread - wow what a lot of curry! good job looks very delicious. What Kebab recipe do you use?

If you are interested in trying another great recipe then Razors recipe is in my opinion superb too! (https://curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php?topic=4393.0). Razor also has an updated version on page 8 although it is probably worth reading the whole thread for tips etc.

Cheers

SP

Thanks SP. Yes, I am definitely going to make Razors kebabs. Wanted to make them today. Got all the stuff ready to make them. But my skewers which arrived this morning are the wrong type. I received the flat blades instead of the square type... :( I may still make them and just cook them on the grill rack. What do you guys think?

PS I will dig the recipe out for the kebabs and post it in the starters thread.

Cheers Whandsy, but I was looking for a flat skewer.

Even with these square skewers, the meat can still spin around if the mixture is a little loose.

I found these on ebay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FLAT-BBQ-SKEWER-STAINLESS-STEEL-25mm-Wide-3mm-thick-FLAT-500mm-LONG-/180786603909?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item2a17b8a785

but at  $ 23.50 each plus postage, :o  it's a joke. I know I said (at any cost) but I need to re-phrase that to any sensible cost.

I want 10 skewers, i'm sure I can get some made at a metalworkers here for less than $235 plus postage.

I'll let you know if/when I get some. :)

Hi Mick.

It just so happens......that I got 4 of them which I can send you if you want. I received them today brand new. I ordered the square ones and the guy sent these by mistake. I paid ?13 for the 4. You can have them for the same price + postage if you want? If you are interested send me an inbox. I will get a picture on here now.

Thanks for the great feedback guys  :)

@curryhell. I am looking forward to a great day in the kitchen, thanks

Thanks Aussie. I am hoping my next batch of kebabs will be pleasing to the eye as well as tasting good!!

@Steve... Chicken Kholapuri is a dish from the south western part of India - Kolhapur. This is the recipe I followed. It involves a lot of ingredients and some patience to get it right. The first time I did it, the results were terrible :( But as I had bought all the ingredients I had to try it a 2nd time and it turned out much better (as per the picture!) Here is the link..

Hehe, niece one emin-j  :) everyone I showed this kebab pic too hates it!!! But they really did taste good. I could not stop eating them  8)

Thanks natterjak :)   that base is still the best one of the 3 I have used so far. I will definitely go back to that one. Will probably try a base gravy from this site first just to make sure though  ;)

The base I am using at the moment is the 3 litre curry2go base from the ebook which I bought about a couple of weeks ago as I have some good success following Julian's videos. The only emission from the base was the seasoned oil which I did not have any of.

I do have seasoned oil now though as cooked a batch of Onion Bhaji's on Sunday :)

I will certainly post the results on here!! I went down to the Halal butcher, they did not sell lamb mince, but I took the liberty of buying 1kg of mutton shoulder while I was there!!!  ;D  Guess it is Mutton Rogan Josh on the weekend for me!! Maybe a Mutton Madras too!  I see they do lamb mince in asda which is 2x600g packs for ?7 at the moment. But, in typical fashion was out of stock when I was there.....  ::) Have to go back on Saturday morning.

So, have Mutton marinating in the fridge. Will leave that there until Saturday morning. Then down to Asda, pick up my lamb mince. Hopefully, my skewers would have arrived by then  :)

Saturday will be a day of cooking then...
1) 2 hours of slow cook for the mutton, then cook up some lamb stock with the bones from the shoulder.
2) Cook up a few mutton curries.. Rogan Josh, Madras, Bhuna
3) Cook up some Ray's Seekh Kebabs (providing my skewers arrive by then)

Just some general Forum questions....

Where do you generally post stuff?

I mean, if the post includes pictures do you post them in the Pictures board?

Or, if you are cooking starters do you post them in the starters board..

Or, mains in the mains board...... etc...

or do you use the Curry Talk board?
