Lets Talk Curry / Re: Suggestion - pioneer of the

Well in that case George, I truly don't understand your attempts at causing problems. It's OK to nominate a "pioneer of the year" but to then have (yet another dig ) at somebody who cannot defend himself on this forum is ......well, to my way of thinking is very childish, and for a moderator to do such a thing is frankly beyond belief.

I don't know you George, I haven't seen/cooked any of your recipes. I DO know CA, I have cooked most of his recipes and they are pretty good to say the least, so please explain why you think that he should receive the wooden spoon award??? :-*

And this man moderates the forum???????

I do hope that this was posted after excess alcohol consumption. It's about the only thing that could just about excuse that behavior from somebody who is deemed to be in charge of things.

Dear oh dear

That explains it.

Here in OZ, the first picture I posted is called cassia bark and the second is called cinnamon sticks.  8)

Jerry, you can't mix up Cassia Bark with Cinnamon Stick, the difference is so obvious.

They manage it down here in Oz CT.

When we opened the shop I ordered cassia bark from our suppliers and got this delivered.

It even said "Cassia bark" on the bag.  ??? To me that is cinnamon quills/sticks.

I use one of these. they're about $4 each.

And a $5 wet stone to keep it sharp.

I made the silly mistake of spending a few hundred dollars on a set of "chef" knives. I have never had so many cut fingers in my cooking life than I did whilst using these.

Cleaver everytime for me.

Top notch as usual CT.

I understand Tyneside, I grew up on Viz comic.  :) :)

The big appeal for me with this base is the tiny, tiny amount of oil in comparison to other bases. Obviously, if people have tried it and say it's good, then this is promising and a very healthy (or less unhealthy) base is great news as far as I'm concerned.

Still can't find any coconut block down here and I've searched high and low. I think I'll try a chef spoon of coconut milk powder an see how that goes.

Thanks again JB

Thanks for sharing JB. Sounds really promising.

Glad you are impressed MA, and glad you kept an open mind re: green/red peppers in a base.  ;)
