Hi Santa,

I'd never seen an RJ topped with a tarka myself until very recently.  With that said, the tarka was what seemed to me, fried onions and garlic?

My understanding, and not with any definite certainty, is that an RJ is basically a curry, garnished with a curry?

Yes 40cm of cinnamon is a hell of a lot you should be using 40mm.  Of course red pepper is quite sweet and I think chewy's base gravy is quite sweet too so they could also be the culprits.  Maybe you could try a squeeze of lemon to offset the sweetness but I would think that that would move you away from a typical RJ as I know it?

Hi Gary,

I'm not clear on how you have prepared your garlic but in the past I have blended garlic and ginger in water and indeed, it turned green in no time!  Even though SS did post the science behind this, I just couldn't bring myself to eat it.

These days, I blend garlic and ginger with oil and a sprinkle of salt, and it stay creamy white for the duration.

Yeah, the Shareen opened in the old TSB bank next to Kwangtung Chippy, It's The Red Lounge now, and it's not bad but the Plaza is better in my opinion!

Tony Cheetham, well, he had big frizzy hair back then but like mine, it's all gone now.  I think he used to knock about with Steve Forrester. Andy Taylor, Zia Mirza, Nanu Patel and so on.

Yeah, Lee was in the Army and ended up going to the gulf the 1st time around, not seen him since New Year though.  I've just come back from Egypt with Pete and see him every Saturday night.

Well my full name is Ray O'Brien, I had very fair hair as a kid but am as bald as a coot these day's   I went to Littlemoss High school but most of my mates went to either West End or Audi.
