I hope you guys have a fantastic time tomorrow. There is an outside chance that I may be in the area tomorrow so if I am I will pop in with the Mrs and kids. Can't wait to hear how it all went.

George - I really hope you do go as you will have a great time! I am sure everybody will respect your privacy and will keep you out of any videos and pictures.

I have been using CBMs and Abdul's bases recently when cooking this jalfreizi but I found a tub of Chewy's base at the bottom of the freezer and I fully agree that it is much sweeter than the others and probably works better for this dish.

I made this base at the weekend and was surprised at how easy and tasty it was. Was quite hot with the chilli and was very salty. I was a little worried about the saltiness and the heat but the dishes I made have turned out really well.

Did you guys get the email from Abdul which had the base sauce update? I'm sure this will lift this base to the next level. I will give it a go next time.

Will do guys. Chewy's is my preferred base anyway. I was just in an experimental mood where I wanted to try a new dish, recipe method and base. I will report back with comments when cooked with the preferred base.

Cheers

I usually cook a Madras and thought I would try something different. I was going to try Razor's Rogan Josh but I fancied something a little hotter. I have just cooked this Jalfrezi with Abdul's base and 8 Spice (planning on cooking some of Abdul's recipes soon) and am over the moon with the results.
I quite often buy a Jalfrezi from the local T/As and this was as good if not better. The onion paste gave a real depth of flavour but I think the base may need to be a little thinner next time.
Definitely recommend that people give this a go, I will keep cooking this from now on.

Rogan Josh / Re: Rogan Josh by Razor

Ray, looks quality.

I always cook a Madras but have been thinking lately about trying a few new dishes. I am going to give this a bash at the weekend. I'll let you know how I get on.

I love this base and now use it all the time. I will also give the spice ball a crack after blending next time as I used to get good results in the past when adding spiced water to bases.
I am planning on getting a pressure cooker for the one hour base. Should be good to speedup the process!!

Got an email from Abdul this morning with an update to the Base. Looks fantastic and cannot wait to give it a go.

Lets Talk Curry / Re: spiced oil in base

Used the oil in my base and Madras and I must say that I am really impressed and gave a much deeper and more complex flavour than using normal veg oil. I think I need to tweek a few things when making the oil next time but I am definitely on the right path.
The oil was a browny colour rather than the expected red but I only cooked the spices in the oil for 15 minutes so may increase cooking time.
