Lets Talk Curry / Re: Grow Your Own Coriander

Hi all,  ;D sounds like a good idea Hotring. I usually buy a bunch (99p) and snip off a small bit and the rest goes in the compost bin. I think if you let it thaw before chopping it goes to mush, so by chopping it whilst it is still frozen will prevent this.

I am sure I read somewhere Tempest63 that it went back to seed not rat shit lol. I have got a packet of seeds and on the pack it says plant outdoors April/May but grows all year round as a windowsill plant. Thats when I get time to do it.

      Cheers..... ;D

Lets Talk Curry / Re: Curry Books

Hi tempest63,  ;) apart from books borrowed from the library I have two I bought.

Step by Step Guide to Indian Cooking. By Khalid Aziz.

Indian Cookery. By Bay Books Cookery Collection.

I did have "The Curry Secret" Kris Dhillon. But gave it away not long after joining this site..

I found the information at the start of 50 Great Curries of India to be very helpful but only tried the Homestyle basic curry and I added a bit of Onion`s base sauce. Turned out quite nice.. ;D

Hi all, cooked this today and the main ingredient you need with this is time. I have spent all afternoon cooking it, But I can say it was well worth it. I started about 1:45pm and finished about 4:45. I just cooked a basic KD style curry and it was very good. The finished base came out a bit on the thick side but rather than add water to the base I added a bit of chicken stock to the curry until I got the right consistency.
