Eddie ... both recipes were from CA  .. since this is new for you I'd start there and then try the other hundreds of great recipes available here once you're feeling a bit more confident.    :)

Hi cuurymex ,

The first two leaves of most plants grown from seed are called 'cotyledons' and are not true leaves of the parent plant .. you'll need to wait untill the true leaves grow and the seed leaves ( cotyledons ) have withered .. given the right growing conditions you should be able to grow large plants with hundreds of leaves .. hope this helps you out !!     :)

Curry Base Chat / Re: Base sauce vegetables

I always use CA's base ( it was the first I did and I've had great results in the final dishes so don't see a need to change just yet ) and the last time I added in some odd bits of different coloured capsicums found in the fridge and a couple of wilted ( old ! ) sticks of celery .. it still tasted the same to me although I'm not much of an expert yet  :)

Welcome Des , there's a stack of great vindaloo recipes on here but I would say the easiest to follow for a beginner would be that of CA ( CoryAnder ) , I love cooking his vindaloo !!

Good luck !!     :)
