I shall be growing these next year from seed

http://www.thompson-morgan.com/vegetables/vegetable-seeds/pepper-sweet-and-chilli-seeds/chilli-pepper-super-chilli-hot/905TM

- previously bought set of 5x different plants - this 'Super Chilli' was amongst them.

Disappointed with the heat & crop amount from my 5x Apache chilli plants this year - no where near as good as the 'Super Chilli'.

Not sure where to put this one - so placed it here.

Went to our local Chef & Brewer eaterie at Dunham Massey - the Axe & Cleaver pub.  Good place to eat - quite a wide ranging menu choice.  Good atmosphere and reasonable prices.

Whilst perusing the menu - spotted Chicken Makhani (Tiffin style) - made in collaboration with Cyrus Todiwala (of tv chef fame).  So I gave it a go.

It was quite a nice dish  and up to the mark for a Butter Chicken dish - perhaps surprising for a pub produced dish - so Cyrus did a good job with them.

Interestingly, talking to an Indian guy (customer) in the Jai Kathmandu in Northenden a week ago, he told me the excellent Seven Spices (owners were originally the Gaylord proprietors in Manchester) in Cheadle Hulme had closed down 3 months ago - probably due to the popularity of the Aamchi Mumbai and the Tiffin Room.

Well, a year after I said I would go there, I finally made it last night.  Didn't bother booking 'cos it was 6:55 pm on a Thursday.   Secured the last table for 2 - place was full by 7:15 pm.  Obviously very popular.   Upmarket, tasty menu - Indian fusion / nouvelle cuisine meets Bombay street food is how I would describe it.  Not an extensive menu and won't be to everyones taste.  Good atmosphere, friendly helpful staff.  Worth a visit to try something different.  Essential to book. A good plus for the location is it has its own car park.  This style of delivery though is done far better and tastier at the nearby Indian Tiffin Room.

Finally found my old chilli plant type courtesy of Telegraph gardening customer service. Superchili.

Will be starting  again next year with this one - all my recipes are based on it's heat factor.

I have a good friend, Willy, who is into curries and he is a good cook too.   Something in occasional curry dishes made him physically ill, but he couldn't pinpoint it.  One day he decided to take up a curry class offer in a local Indian.  They asked them to taste individually all the spices they were going to use.  As soon as he tasted the coriander leaf - he reacted badly & was physically sick on the spot much to the dismay of his fellow attendees.

Result though - he'd found his curry nemesis.

I have now christened him the Coriander Kid.

Heard a lot about this place so gave it a try.  Very popular, very busy and essential to book.  40 covers in a small area - so 'cosy'!  Not your usual Indian - very different, deliberately.  Starters very different, very tasty.  Mains so so - but again upmarket.  Beer expensive.  Opening a bigger place in Manchester shortly for 90 covers.  Well worth a visit to taste something that little bit different.

Can't abide the stuff sprinkled on everything like confetti - horrible overpowering aromatic taste.  Can tolerate it if in the dish and cooked along with the rest.
