I was feeling a little more active yesterday with much less pain so I decided to do a couple of easy dishes including 2 new ones for me, including ScottyM's Pilua Rice, which I think turned out pretty good actually.  I only did half qty though, and it was plenty for 4 people easily.

The other new one is a Zafrani Chicken Korma which is a rich and exotically flavoured dish with poppy seeds, fried onions, nutmeg / mace, nut paste, saffron and keora (aka kewra or pandan).

The other 2 dishes which I've done before were a Rajma Masala and Kheema Mattar.

A couple of hours in the kitchen had me needing to lie back down though. I still have some recovery to do.

Anyway here's a couple of pics.  You'll notice the absence of bright red chilli and lashings of oil.

"I'm Gonna Leave You" from "Fiends and Angels".  Not the same one but worth a listen anyway.  Martha Velez was / is a very interesting woman.  She worked with many different artists most notably EC and Bob Marley.  If you like reggae, and have time, check out "Escape From Babylon".

Thanks Gav but your off target their my friend.  I like Coldplay but have never been able to listen to the human larynx, ever since "Sadie the cleaning lady" and "Raindrops keep falling on my head".  Now how old do you feel?

Here's one from the same year as John Kongos though.

Covers can be really dangerous when done poorly.  Nothing worse.

I think that's a great cover of Joni Mitchell's BYT and I also like this cover of Carly Simon's "Your So Vain".

And this old Monkees track "I'm a Believer" from Shrek by Smashmouth.
I think what makes them work is that they don't stray too far from the original.

Is it possible, or even likely, that eating things that make you vomit is not such a good idea?  Call me a softy if you will, but I simply don't understand it.

You guys remind me of the Phys Ed faculty back in my uni days.  They would annually hold their Iron Man (and Woman) challenge which involved a marathon of physical exertion with periodic stops to eat ridiculous things like canned dog food, vegemite from the jar, dry weetbix, curdled milk, raw eggs, warm beer, etc etc.  If they reached the end of the course and still hadn't evacuated their intestines they were then fed a healthy dose of ipecac syrup.  The rest of the college population used to just stand back and watch these models of the human form torture themselves to the point of convulsion and laugh.  Funny thing is that one guy just couldn't vomit even after the ipecac.  Clearly the winner that year.  Then there was the funny guy who insisted on removing his clothing at every single event, even the lunchtime concerts in the Cafeteria courtyard.

Ever thought of eating naga's naked?

Ok. All clear for me now. I apologise if I offended anyone and as I have since pointed out, I actually love korma. I will try to be more mindfull of people's sensitivities in future.
