Those photos look great Naga. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I think a couple of little hot chillies in it would be nice and give a bit more heat while keeping the balance of the dish. Nice of you to say it's your favourite Dhansak. Did you make a single portion or did you double it up? The single portion I find is quite large anyway.

I just rely on the rubber seal, I do find that I have to adjust the clips in order to get a good seal though, so maybe I should have kept the paper insert too.

Similar setup to mine Bob. I have mine in a drawer. I have to replenish them quite regularly like you though.

Yes, and in the process you have done the same for me, glad I'm on holiday. Nice looking vindaloo CT. That will now be my breakfast, I'm off to the kitchen.  :D

Lets Talk Curry / Re: Mixed powder....
March 30, 2015, 11:23 PM
I think that is true. The mix powder is just one link in the chain. I tried a mix powder from the cook4one site which had a curry powder mix to go in the mix powder and I didn't find it made that much difference to my curries at the time. What has really changed the taste of my curries is the cooking techniques that I now use that I have learned from this site. I think that it's about technique, base and mix powder in that order. Obviously then it follows that a good recipe will help to get in the right area of taste that everyone is looking for.

Cooking Equipment / Re: Hand blenders

That is the difference that I noticed with the silvercrest over the Braun that I had before. It was 150w and just didn't seem to blend by comparison. If this one only lasts 3 years it will have paid for itself as it will only be used for BIR. I got 2 so that one is used for other things.

Of course. It's a very good recipe. I have some similar lurking in my freezer. Thanks

I bet it was but you need to stop this as I should not be thinking about firing up the gas again tonight and if I do I will hold you wholly responsible.  :) Which naan recipe was it by the way?

I know the Bamix is very good but it does cost a lot more than the Lidl one and as the silvercrest comes with a 3 year warranty I just thought it was worth trying, I'm glad I did.
