Yumm...That naan is just how I like it too :)

I can just handle crispy duck pancakes and Hoisin sauce but 2 would be the limit. Too much sweetness and I would puke.
I am sweet enough hahahahaha  ::)

I am partial to a bit of mint but when I have it with Lamb I only use it on my peas and mash. I like a bit of cranberry sauce with any roast but only a smidge, as I hate sweet/ savoury dishes.

Sounds like you ate like a king this weekend though :) crispy roasties are a must. I always pre boil, shake, add hot oil, hil oven and a bit of salt= winner!

I wanted to do a roast but I had some tikka marinating since Friday that needed using and so I made that for the kids and did a precooked (earlier today) madras for me and the hubby. Only fail was that I only had 3 H4ppy naan dough balls left and 3 naans into 4 people didnt go so everyone is looking forward to batch number 3 :)

Madras / Re: THE ULTIMATE MADRAS - AN EXPERIMENT
February 23, 2014, 07:51 PM
I have only tried 1 base (Zaal) and have several consistently great Madras curries. Iwill try another base when this is nearly done and when I make the Zaal again I will use more water but the taste is pretty great .
Let us know how you get on with Madras and other base as Madras is my all time fave :)

Hi, The packed lunch was envied by my sons colleagues so that was a winner and then Friday night I did a takeaway for my mum and dad with Tikka starters (with salad in a bag ...lol) madras and naans and today I have premade my curry and naans ready for a quick tea later.

We are all spiced up :)

Lets Talk Curry / Re: Storing Spices
February 20, 2014, 01:16 PM
I just got some of those pegs that seal the tops of the plastic bags from Ikea and all my spices are in a giant sandwich type box (From Home bargains ?2.49) in a dark cupboard so hopefully they will be alright like that.

Lets Talk Curry / Re: Mixed powder

Cheers Gav,
I used chewys vid for my first 2 BIR madras's last week. It was great to "cook along to" and was very tasty, then last nights was one from Andy's "E-book".

I saved some from last night as I always enjoy some cold the next morning and I tell you it tastes not that far away from my local BIR madras. Proud!!!!

Chewy, I didn't know that about the powder. I love how much you guys are willing to share so we can all save a few quid from the takeaways and improve our cooking skills. Awesome!!
