It's down to a mix of garlic powder , salt and MSG plus the use of pastes and as Phil noted ... obviously not enough beer   ;)

Nice work Whandsy !!

I'm on a mission today too having cooked 10 portions of pilau rice I'm just about to do 10 bases and enough garlic / ginger paste to last a month. Tonight I'm going to try Dips Chicken Tikka Biriani and the accompanying veg curry for a change .

Hi Tom ,

I'd go for it big time .. what's life without a bit of danger eh. Please video it too just in case it does indeed blow .. I have often wondered what the result of one of those contraptions exploding would be.

If you need an assistant please give me a call .. I'm well qualified since I tipped a litre of 'Brasso' onto the school brazier in metalwork ... that warmed the place up a bit and I have a similar feeling about your little number ... do call !!!

I was in a similar situation to yourself a few months ago and having familiarised myself with this forum's content I opted to try Cory Ander's base , masala and recipes initially and because CA had put together his recipes using this base and masala I would say it's an almost guarantied result that you'll achieve.
You'll need some experience and understanding IMHO before you can start mixing different masalas and different bases with the myriad of recipes available here ... but best of luck if you choose to !!    :)

Thanks for posting 976bar .. it looks and reads well and if I hadn't spent an hour yesterday cooking a dhal for a dhansak today it would have been today's curry ... it's booked in for a midweek trial .. can't wait !!   :)

CA's base is a great starting point as are his other recipes .. I use them all the time and I'm yet to have a bad dish .. enjoy this resource !   :)
