It's me again!  Forgot to add that I often add celery and carrots to my base if I have them lurking about and yes, of course green peppers.  The only difference to me with this base is the use of extra turmeric, chilli powder and garam masala.

Hi all,  I made the 15 onion gravy last night and I have to say that you could definately eat it as it stands now without adding anything at all.   I simmered my onions for longer and also once blitzed I found that I had to simmer for more than 10minutes and then another 5 for the oil to rise to the top.  Apart from that it is looking very promising indeed.  I shall make a vindaloo and report back.

Lets Talk Curry / Re: Surry curry club

This may be of interest to you!

Pat Chapman who lives in Haslemere in Surrey only a few miles from Guildford where this forum is "The Surrey Curry Club"  is based, was furious that they had used the "curry club" name with reference to his own "curry club".  I think that he tried to stop them using the name but failed.  He was fuming apparently!

Thomashenry,

If you are having such great results why don't you post some of the recipes that you are making - then we can see if you are the expert that you profess to be!

You're right Pete, it's a joke!  How can you replicate a proper curry with onion powder.  Any chefs looking in now must be having a good laugh at us even considering this.

Hi Gary,

Great to have something else to work on, thanks for that.  This forum seems to have almost come to a stand still recently.   I shall certainly have a go at this one!  4 onions, are they  English onions or Spanish, medium or large ones?  It sounds the business too, can't wait to try it tomorrow to make this base!  Please post recipe asap the vindaloo recipe so that I can cook it on Friday or Saturday night.  Thanks again and I will post results.  See what bribes can do!!!

Hi,  I saw this too!  I'm surprised that they are allowed to sell this stuff, after all, if it is a potential health hazard then it should not be allowed.  I have some of "dave's insanity" chilli sauce and that is hot enough for steam to come out of your ears.  What the hell is this sauce going to do to poor people?

Darthphall,

You sound just like my son, evil, but in a nice way!  You tell them son and may the force be with you!

well done Darthphall, keep it up.  How about your trip to your take away - managed that yet or are you too busy.  We have bought a take out again tonight, they still can't get it right when it comes to heat.  It is as though they are afraid to make it toooo hot for us.

Good idea Mark J.  Between us I am sure that we can foyle the mystery behind the bulk ingredients.  Come on semiskimmed get the recipe and we will unravel it for everyone to use
