Secondly: the gay spat between Cory Ander and Domi is becoming hilarious. Like an episode of Will and Grace. Just with no grace.

Will and Grace? Nay lad you don't watch that crap do you? :o ...'ang on a minute, you're not a Leeds fan are you? That would explain it, but certainly not excuse it :P hehehe and besides, it's not a spat, it's CA having some form of breakdown lol

the majority of BIRs (which are mostly Pakistani, not Bangladeshi as the majority of what the rest of you eat are - the Bangladeshi BIRs in Leeds are particulary average, the Pakistani / Punjabi style goes down better here).

Mike

That certainly seems to be the case in Huddersfield too. Punjabi style seems to be on the up while the Bangladeshi BIR's appear to be on the wane, dunno why but then again I don't really care as long as the curries are good lol

We used to buy some frozen curries in the early 80's in a metal tray just as you described P&J though they were by Bismillah or Memsahib's they were bloody good back then. Don't know if I'd still think the same now though :\ We used to call their keemas kit-e-kat curries because you could never really tell what the meat was lol

My best mate is a Pakistani (born and bred in Hudds) and always refers to herself as a Paki and proud ;D She can't bloody cook though - too busy with the chemical engineering :( but I do keep nagging her to get me some of her mum's recipes....I'll post 'em when she coughs up ;)

I'll be adding the fresh chilli next time round, Axe. I had to put them away as I'd have had none left for tonight's curry lol so 'im indoors is a lover of them too ;D

Perhaps you can serve it with doughnuts...you know, those "chilli flavoured" thingamy jimmys.... ::)

You're definitely using the wrong doughnut recipe, CA...why not try the one I posted in the OFF TOPIC chat section? ;D

I made a batch of these today though as I've had no luck in finding aniseed, i used fennel seed in place...I made up the mix as spec (minus the aniseed of course) and cooked a couple to test the spicing, I have to say I did find them to be underspiced but I rectified this by simply adding more :) though I didn't add more salt. Result was very pleasing indeed, lovely crisp bhajis and an improvement on my old recipe which I was more than happy with.

Thanks for the recipe Axe ;D I'll definitely be making more of these :) even without the aniseed :P

jings that's a size! :o  Unfortunately I live at the top of a big hill and we're exposed to the winds so I doubt very much we'd be able to grow one unless we could keep it indoors all the time....I'd need a bigger house though judging by the size of yours....Can't say I'm not jealous though :P
