I'm afraid it is a trip too far for me at the moment Phil. The expense of getting to Basingstoke and then the cost of the masterclass I simply cannot justify unfortunately. Especially as my culinary journey is going in a different direction at the moment. Otherwise I would have been very interested in attending.

Perhaps if you were to find out roughly how much such an event would cost, others might be interested?

Pan size and egg count updated Gav ;) I very nearly tried the 'Spanish' variation yesterday but I always find the spuds dry when I do it, so I chose not to.

Does anyone know the Indian name for this omelette? I've Googled 'Indian Omelette' and it's thrown up loads but would like to Google it by it's proper name.....where's Chewy when you need him! :)

Hi Mick, I get the impression you don't like biryani, not sure why?  :P

Just spoken to Ali (who owns the Shanaz) who confirms that their BIR Biryani is usually a portion of rice and pre-cooked meat in a fry pan as opposed to oven cooked, which can also be done of course.  :)

Imagine if i'd have added the cheese I said I would try next time round!  :)

The colour was darker this time as I used madras powder not mix powder. Also left it under the grill a while to cook the tomatoes.

Chicken/King Prawn Jalfrezi -> I want one more mild curry, so it'll be either Korma or Jalfrezi or Butter Chicken

I've decided against:
Biryani -> Too much work with the extra pot and layers, no idea if it'd sell on time either.

Hi SC, Jalfrezi is not a mild dish, did you mean to include here?

I'm fairly sure that a BIR will simply mix a portion of rice and precooked meat/veg in a pan together and serve as a Biryani. You won't need to make a 'proper' Biryani. ;)
