Hi Hilly

I honestly don't know, but I also, like SD, would imagine it being slightly better frozen uncooked, but I've not had any problems with it frozen cooked.

I also forgot to mention, I usually use frozen chicken breasts, so I couldn't do it that way anyway. ::) ;)

Hi SD

It was more the difference in price and the word peacock than the spelling of Qasuri / Kasoori between the two, I was referring to. ;)

Is the peacock a higher quality for instance.

I must admit I freeze it cooked.
I just find it easier (lazier?) to cook a load in one go and freeze it in portions enough for a curry.

Not sure what the difference is between Qasuri Methi and Peacock Kasoori Methi, but the ordinary one Which I always use) is only 0.45p for 50g as opposed to the ?2.15 for 100g? :-\

Not sure if you are UK based, but you could also try here

Cheaper postage than SOI, and I can recommend them having used them for the first time very recently.
For the prices, and one off postage cost, it is well worth getting a few things in the one order.

And if you can afford to spend the ?24.99 for FREE Express delivery (lower than SOI at ?30), you get tracking and they even gave a 1 hour timeslot for the delivery. 8)

Usually 300ml batches for me, which I find is easily enough for quite large portion curries.

Following this, think I might give this a try instead of a mix powder in one of my curries tonight.

Phil was having good results in his interesting thread, using curry powder as a nucleus. https://curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php?topic=7904.0

I'm really pleased with the seeds I bought from http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Premier-Seeds-Direct/_i.html?_nkw=chilli&submit=Search&_sid=79364908

I planted 20 of each, and so far I have 16 of both the Fresno and Santa Fee Grande, 11 Poinsietta, and 9 Thai Culinary come through. More seem to appear every day. 8)

Oh and I have just one, so far, from a tray full (about 50) of my own collected seeds. :(
Maybe the taking of them from frozen chillies is possibly a problem.

So if you are looking for seeds I can obviously recommend them, way cheaper than anywhere else too.

Still to master this myself yet, but the best results I've got so far, in my last attempt, was by adding a little of that quick yeast to the usual baking powder recipe I use.

It wasn't enough yeast to make the dough raise loads, as in bread making, but did bubble up quite nicely when cooked on my Tawa.

Yay, some of my seeds are now breaking through the surface (7 days). All from each of the bought seeds ;D, but none from my collected seeds so far. :(

I have now moved the seed trays, from the airing cupboard, to my bedroom windowsill, in the large light reflector box I made.

I've also, dug out an old electric blanket, folded it into four and it fits perfectly under the set up. So if we have a really cold spell I can give it some bottom heat, with a choice of 3 heat settings.

My first time growing them so a little excited. ;)
