He did post it correctly under 'anything other than curry'. I'd find it useful to hear where the recipe comes from and whether Geezah rates it very highly.

Its a recipe I concoted myself and it does taste pretty damn awesome.
I made it first time round with a glass of red wine, but found it didn't sit well so I followed the advice of Baz1 on here and used ale instead.

6-8 chicken thighs skinned and filletted or 6 chicken breast fillets
2 rashers of smoked bacon cut in to lardons
8 shallotts halfed
1 leek sliced
2 carrots thinly sliced
12 button mushrooms halfed
flour
salt & Pepper
garlic granules
parlsey
chicken stock (oxo)
Ale

Method
Season some flour with salt n pepper then roll the chicken in it then fry them in a little oil until they are golden all over and then put them in a casserole dish.
Slice up the bacon in to lardons and fry that until it is golden and add it to the chicken.
Fry the mushrooms for a minute or so, and add to chicken along with the rest of the vegetables.
Fry the shallots for a few minutes and sprinkle on a tsp of sugar to help caramelise them.
Add about 400ml of chicken stock (chicken oxo)
Add a good sprinkle of garlic granules and a good sprinkle of parsley and top the dish up with 1/2 pint of ale.
In the oven on 180 for 90 minutes.
use Bisto to thicken the sauce at the end if required.

Welcome!

Well, you have found the right place to start making excellent curry and sides.

I had never made a curry before last year and now i'm making them for family members as they love them.

see....   https://curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php?topic=7798.msg68227;topicseen#msg68227

If I can manage that in 1 year then you should do ok.

My recipes for that spread is in the thread.

I wouldn't have been able to do it if it wasn't for this website, so thanks go out to everyone who contributes.

All the recipies are in this download  -  http://ge.tt/9wvyftC?c

They are what I have found here and adapted to my taste, except for the lamb kofta, I sort of made that up myself.

And yeah, the dog didnt leave my side all day in the kitchen ;)

Just tried this recipe out as my first ever time making nan breads.
I didn't use the oven though, just a heavy frying pan on the hob.

I'm quite pleased for a first attempt.

I generally brush each side with a little oil and microwave for 20-30 seconds.

My very own Waggldance clone goes well with a milder curry like a Tikka massala.

But for a hotter curry it would have to be my Breferm Diabolo @ 8% abv

Welcome to the website, and congratulations on your first of many successes.

For all those hard to find ingredients I found ebay perfect until I got familiar with local indian stores.

I have bought lots from http://stores.ebay.co.uk/The-Spiceworks?_trksid=p4340.l2568 and would fully recomend them. (i'm in no way affiliated, just impressed on price and service)
