Now I am off for the Xmas period and catching up on chores, I made 3.6kg of this stuff this morning, which is happily marinading in my fridge, where it will be cooked on Saturday :)

The other 1.4kg out of the 5kg pack is now marinading as pre-cooked Chicken and will be given the same treatment on Saturday as well  ;D

Great pictures!

What is the recipe for Mushrooms in an Almond Gravy? Your description gives me the desire to try it.

It's a well known fact, that Chilies contain more vitamin C than oranges, and are undoubtedly a great cold remedy...

Hope you feel better soon Mike :)

Thanks Dave. I finish on the 14th December till 7th Jan, so hopefully will be able to start posting some recipes for the bulk dishes in case anyone wants them for parties etc..

Hope you're keeping well :)

Lets Talk Curry / Curry Night at the Uni.....

Yet another curry night at the Uni on Thursday, nothing knew there, I here a lot saying, but one new recipe, Mushrooms in an Almond Gravy, a recipe from "ThoughtsfromAjoy", don't know if any of you receive his e-mails, but he's an Indian guy in Aus, and I quite like his posts... the recipe although not what we would call BIR is certainly a top notch dish. I made it once in the kitchen as a single portion and it was divine, making it in bulk will need a little more work, but about 3/4 of what I had prepared went quite quickly.

I also made Chicken Bhuna and have attached some pictures on the different stages of cooking the dish in bulk, I also made vegetarian samosas and chicken tikka samosas, along with tandoori chicken breasts and an aubergine and potato bhaji (although we have to make these dishes with more sauce for commercial reasons)... :)

The 250ml of single cream will become your "Base Sauce" for the dish when mixed with all the other ingredients as it were.
Although it isn't listed in the ingredients, the instructions then clearly indicate to add some base gravy (300ml I presume).

So it means quite a lot of liquid and, even for an unhealthy option, it seems too much cream!

I have to admit, I didn't read the methodology of the recipe and yes that does sound quite a lot of cream. Just add a drop at a time until you reach your desired consistency :)

Hi Chewy,

I'm about to try your recipe, but it seems to me that there is a HUGE quantity of cream.

Do you really mean 250ml of cream or is there a typo?

The 250ml of single cream will become your "Base Sauce" for the dish when mixed with all the other ingredients as it were.

This is definitely not one of the healthiest curries around, but I used to eat it for years when I first started out eating curry's :)

Hi Guys,

Sorry, but not getting a lot of time to myself lately, and missing this forum and all the chat...

Thursday night at the Uni again, made Garlic Chili Chicken, Kashmiri Chicken Masala with Banana, Aubergine/Mushroom & Potato Bhaji, and a Vegetarian Biryani - using purple potatoes, (which actually taste the same as normal ones but gives a dynamic visual effect)....

Hope everyone is doing good!! :)
